About Sara
Hi there, my name is Sara. I use the pronouns she and her. I was born and raised in Michigan, moving from Metro Detroit to Greater Lansing and back. At the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be a therapist. By the time I was 16, I felt that my mission was to help folks enhance their sexual wellness and intimacy as they navigated trauma, grief, and adjustment; thus, my path to becoming a sex therapist began.

Throughout my academic and early career, I worked with survivors of domestic and sexual violence in a variety of settings, including a large university campus, non-profit clinical spaces, the judicial system, and other community agencies. Before I became licensed, I volunteered in crisis hotlines, suicide prevention research, substance use recovery, and hospice. After working with several populations and settings, I have found that my passion is working with women and gender-expansive people in their sexual safety, exploration, and expression, along with deepening their relationship with self and others.

Outside of my therapy practice and love for continuing education, I am a wife and mother of two small children. In my free time, I write and publish grief poetry books and have recently started educating the grief community about sexual wellness.
